Purpose
The purpose of the award is to recognize an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the practice of traffic or transportation engineering; for example, a practical application of traffic/transportation engineering techniques or principles, a valuable contribution through research, the successful adaptation of research findings to a practical transportation situation, or the advancement of the profession through training or administration.
Eligibility
Individual must be a Michigan ITE member and should have shown outstanding accomplishments in the field of traffic and transportation engineering. Current members of the Michigan ITE Board of Directors or Awards Committee are not eligible.
Award
Award will consist of acknowledgement at a section meeting and Michigan ITE newsletter as well as a personalized recognition plaque, which will be presented at a Michigan ITE section meeting each year.
Procedure
Award applicants may apply or may be nominated by submitting a description (max 2 pages) of the nominee’s outstanding contribution to the practice of traffic or transportation or transportation engineering. The award recipient shall be selected by a panel consisting of up to six members, made up of representatives from the Michigan ITE Board of Directors and/or Michigan ITE Awards Committee.
Nominations are due May 1, 2022.
